Almeida Theatre, London
Renovation at the Almeida
The Almeida Theatre renovation project retained the 19th Century character of the intimate auditorium, rebuilding the foyer and improving the seating and accessibility for the audience.
During the two year closure period Theatreplan worked with Burrell Foley Fischer to define the new stage lighting and sound systems, document the designs and project-manage the installations.
The special ‘found’ quality of the space was preserved by the careful integration of the extensive new technical infrastructure. Apart from new stage lighting and sound equipment Theatreplan also specified a new ventilation system for comfort cooling.
