A highly ambitious project, the primary vision for the Galaxy International Conference Centre in Macau was to provide a world class multi-purpose convention, conferencing, banqueting, sports, entertainment and exhibition venue.
The development consists of a 16,000-seat arena; a 2000-capacity convention and exhibition hall; a 600-seat plenary theatre; and a conference centre with 26 meeting rooms with speaker preparation and support spaces.
Theatreplan delivered theatre planning and auditorium design; BIM modelling; sound, video and lighting design; and comprehensive content distribution for the arena.
The concept and schematic design phases were achieved within a tight schedule with the client requiring fast turnarounds. Theatreplan used a highly efficient working method within the Revit 3D modelling software that significantly speeded up the design process, which enabled the design team to achieve the deadlines required by the client.
Theatreplan has also provided cutting edge technology design to provide a converged network where any audio, video or data signal is instantly available across the entire development.
