Amy Hickson
Practice Coordinator
Amy joined Theatreplan in 2018, having spent the previous six years working in Higher Education Institutions, providing administrative support to academic staff, and services support in the Estates Division of the London School of Economics. Whilst working at LSE, Amy assisted the Manager of the Peacock Theatre, with the running of events and lectures. This gave her an insight into the different aspects of working in a theatre and managing all the elements which come together to make the venue operationally effective and welcoming.
Amy originally studied Geography at the University of Exeter, where she focused on Cultural Human Geographies. In her final year she volunteered at the Centre for Contemporary Art and the Natural World (CCANW) -
an art gallery which was based in Haldon Forest where she assisted with preparations for an exhibition, and wrote her dissertation entitled:
Beach Huts; A Sense of Dwelling by the Seashore.
Amy moved to London in 2014 and appreciates the opportunities that
come with living in the city, regularly attending theatre performances
and art exhibitions. She has also recently completed an evening class
to develop skills in textile art and always has a sewing project in progress.
Amy coordinates all aspects of the practice’s work from general administration, to bid development, marketing and PR, and HR.
